Scythe by Neal Shusterman// Book Review

(This Review might contain Spoilers :)
recently finished Scythe by Neal Shusterman, and may I just say I loved it. It had plot twists that I never could have guessed, I was shocked almost all the way to the end.

Scythe is one of those books that once you start reading all you want to do is to see how the book will eventually wrap-up - and may I just say I liked the ending plot-twist. Something that I really appreciated within this book was the writing style Neal Shusterman used, it's really easy going/straight to the point and isn't very prose heavy - which helps people like me who can lose interest easily.

Now with all of that said this would be an otherwise 3 star book for me. But I think what pushed this over towards a 4 star book was the world, concept & execution of the concept. The utopian setting of the book feels somewhat unique & tangible.

RATING: 4/5 stars

March 2025 Monthly WrapUp

Hey yall! March 2025 has been quite the experience to live through, so much has happened to me these last few weeks. My personal life has been a neverending emotional rollercoaster, and I'm glad March is coming to an end. This month I've been trying my hand at Bullet Journaling more, working out at the gym, taking Lent (Im Anglican, btw) very seriously, and of course, reading alot more (on account that I have more free time to do so) . That being said means that I've been feeling sad due to life; had more muscle pains; not to mention the fact that I've been intermittent fasting. Although it's been a rather tough month for me I've had tons of fun too. Watched a bunch of tv, and FINALLY read books this year. Firstly, the films and TV I watched this month [Rewatch] Down Low(2023) ★★★✩✩ [Rewatch] Shrek(2001) ★★★★★ Star Wars: Tales of The Jedi {ep 1} ★★★★✩ [Rewatch] Bojack Horseman (S2 ep. 5 - 12) ★★★★✩ (Pretty recently at work i meet someone with a Bojack H...

Separating Art From The Artist? // Book Review // Opinion

Should we Separate The Art from The Artist?  Author's Note ;  The last 2 years now I have not been blogging nor have I been consistent anywhere else on the internet, as I have been going through a lot in my personal life. I would like to formally offer up an apology for my absence. I would like to thank every single one of you that dm'ed me on my instagram asking where I had been, i appreciate the concern and love.  This post was initially written as far back as December 2022 with additional embellishments made in present day 2025.  With the recent allegations of acclaimed artists, writers, and even musicians like Kanye West, or R Kelly. It's made me wonder on whether or not we should be calling on the separation of the artist from the art that they have created. Under the current social climate in which we live in it could be seen as a daunting task to voice your opinion on art that social media might have to convinced is harmful to greater societal norms. How...

The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo //Book Review

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸ½ haven't posted anything on here in AGES. I've just been extremely preoccupied this year on school & prelims & NSC exams (that's coming up). I've been so preoccupied with all that that I didn't manage time well to fit in "Write Blog Post" in the Daily To Do Lists.  But, anyways...  I read one of the most hyped books in the online book community, and....... I loved it😍 I loved the characters. I loved that Taylor Jenkins Reid made them all immensely human, and rawly real (do that something people say, idk?πŸ˜…) I loved how Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote in such a simplistic way that it kind of made it addictive to read. And I don't think everyone will find it addictive when reading but I did. I'm someone who loves seeing the behind the scenes things of movies & I love celebrity gossip & news. So this was addictive to read for me because you get to see both of those things within the book.  Something that surprised me but...
