The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo //Book Review

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸ½ haven't posted anything on here in AGES. I've just been extremely preoccupied this year on school & prelims & NSC exams (that's coming up). I've been so preoccupied with all that that I didn't manage time well to fit in "Write Blog Post" in the Daily To Do Lists.
But, anyways...
I read one of the most hyped books in the online book community, and....... I loved it😍
I loved the characters. I loved that Taylor Jenkins Reid made them all immensely human, and rawly real (do that something people say, idk?πŸ˜…)

I loved how Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote in such a simplistic way that it kind of made it addictive to read. And I don't think everyone will find it addictive when reading but I did. I'm someone who loves seeing the behind the scenes things of movies & I love celebrity gossip & news. So this was addictive to read for me because you get to see both of those things within the book.

Something that surprised me but that I also loved about the book was how gay it was.πŸ˜… I knew that Evelyn Hugo was bisexual but I was surprised by all the other things that revolved by the gayness of this book (if that makes any senseπŸ˜‚). I didn't expect it and yet I loved the book even more because of it.

There really isnt anything that I hated about the book and would highly highly recommend this book to almost anyone who' s willing to read it.

Now, before you see my rating you have to understand that I read this book over the span of a couple of months, so I didn't get to fully experience the book the way it should have been experienced because I believe that this book needs to be read in one sitting, cover-to-cover, to fully get the magic of this book. Another reason for the lower rating is because, I just know that on reread I'll give it a higher rating so I'm going to nerf my rating so that I won't have to be disappointed by my past/future rating/opinion... Does that make sense to anyone other than me, I don't know?🀷🏾‍♂️πŸ˜‚
But anyway, I absolutely loved this book, it's one of my favourites.
-π‘Ήπ’‚π’•π’Šπ’π’ˆ: 🌟🌟🌟.5 /5

I'm super excited for the adaptation. And I hope that it comes out well.
(you guys on the blog get to see a photo that I have yet to post on my Bookstagram account, I'm going to post it on the 30th of October 2020)

Separating Art From The Artist? // Book Review // Opinion

Should we Separate The Art from The Artist?  Author's Note ;  The last 2 years now I have not been blogging nor have I been consistent anywhere else on the internet, as I have been going through a lot in my personal life. I would like to formally offer up an apology for my absence. I would like to thank every single one of you that dm'ed me on my instagram asking where I had been, i appreciate the concern and love.  This post was initially written as far back as December 2022 with additional embellishments made in present day 2025.  With the recent allegations of acclaimed artists, writers, and even musicians like Kanye West, or R Kelly. It's made me wonder on whether or not we should be calling on the separation of the artist from the art that they have created. Under the current social climate in which we live in it could be seen as a daunting task to voice your opinion on art that social media might have to convinced is harmful to greater societal norms. How...

The Heroes of Olympus//Series Review

*Disclaimer/Apology* Sorry for not posting any new blog posts for quite sometime, I’ll try to not do this sort of infrequent posting thing again. If you want any new content from me or reading updates. You can follow me on Instagram (@themostlybookishblog) . Because I’m much more active on those platforms. With that out of the way; last time I posted something on this blog it was a review of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. At the end of that post I mentioned that I was going to review the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan.  So, without dragging this out any longer than it needs to be. This is my individual reviews for each book in the series.                            The Lost Hero The first book in this series is actually one of my least favourite books in the series and one of my least favourite books from Rick Riordan. The book had a plo...

Teen Titans: Beast Boy loves Raven // Graphic Novel Review

So, I somewhat recently read the latest installment in the ongoing Teens Titans graphic novel series by Kami Garcia & Gabriel Picolo.  As a preface - this review is just my personal opinion, I am by no means knowledgeable about Garcia's other books, or about certain aspects of these character's other comicbook portrayals (I'm abit knowledgeable about Teen Titans but I by no means know everything).  I unfortunately found this book very very boring to sit through, I quite liked the previous installments of this series. However, this one was lackluster in comparison to the other books in the series. Especially in regards to plot, writing, and character development. Throughout this blog post I will exposit more.  Firstly, I liked Garfield/Beast Boy's development of his powers and him really learning how to better understand and use said powers better in this book than in his solo orgin book, and seeing Raven be there for him in that process and empathizing ...
